These earrings were made in honor of the lovely rose quartz crystal. Known as the stone of unconditional love, it is said to open your heart to be able to give and receive love.
This crystal is strongly associated with its pink color which represents gentleness, calm, femininity, and compassion. It has the energy of a goddess, filled with warm and gentle vibrations reminding you to be kind to yourself and to those around you.
The name rose quartz came from the Greek word “hyalos” meaning glass. According to Greek legend, Aphrodite cut herself on a thorny bush and stained white quartz to save her lover, Adonis, from war. Zeus, out of empathy, brought Adonis back from war and therefore the meaning of love rekindled for the rose quartz was born.
Fun fact: Remnants of rose quartz were found in face masks recovered from Egyptian tombs as it was thought to enhance beauty and slow the aging process.
