These earrings were made in honor of the calming amethyst stone. Thought of a stone of peace and intuition, it has been said that the presence of amethyst while sleeping can produce soothing dreams. This is also extended to the waking mind such that amethysts are said to allow the mind to flow more freely.
Fun fact: The name amethyst comes from the Greek word amethystos meaning "not drunk." It is claimed that you could drink all night and not get drunk while wearing an amethyst stone.
