For the Love of Garnet Crystal Earrings

These earrings were made in honor of the deep red garnet stone.  Did you know that garnet is one of the world's oldest known gemstones? Garnet amulets and talismans were recovered by archaeologists from ancient Egyptian tombs and mummies.

Although garnets can be a variety of colors, they are mostly associated with the color red which is what inspired this pair of earrings. Red is the color of passion and fire which may be why this stone is most commonly associated with love, sensuality and confidence.

Fun fact: The meaning of garnet is rooted in ancient lore and comes from the Latin word "granatum," meaning pomegranate (probably because of its resemblance to a pomegranate seed). Speaking of pomegranates, I highly suggest looking up the story of Hades' love of Persephone and how he tricked her into staying in the underworld because she ate some pomegranate seeds.
